When someone refers to the As The World Turns fandom, they are most often actually referring to the fandom of a specific As The World Turns storyline – the gay teen romance of Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer – which made history in August 2007, when the show featured the first gay male kiss in American daytime history.

As The World Turns is an American soap opera that airs weekdays on CBS. It is the second longest running soap opera still on air, having debuted in 1956. It was created by Irna Phillips (Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light) and takes place in the fictional town of Oakdale, Illinois.
